Arrival in Saigon, meet your local driver, transfer to your hotel, and take a rest. Overnight in Saigon.
After breakfast at hotel, you will transfer directly to Cu Chi Tunnels. The ingenious tunnel complex was initially started in 1948 to protect the Viet Cong guerrillas from the French air and ground sweeps. The tunnels also served as communication routes, storage facilities for food and weapon caches and contained hospitals and living quarters for guerrilla fighters throughout the American War. Back to Ho Chi Minh City. In the afternoon, discover the War Remnants Museum, a powerful memorial dedicated to documenting the First Indochina War and the Vietnam War. Then visit Reunification Palace, designed by architect Ngo Viet Thu and the site of the Fall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. Finally, visit the Old Post Office, constructed 1886-1891 with classic Gothic, Renaissance and French colonial design. Back to hotel and take a rest.
Receive at My Tho tourist boat station. Cruise on the Mekong River for a sight-seeing of the four islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle and Phoenix, passing Rach Mieu bridge. Head to Thoi Son (Unicorn Island), the biggest island in the area. Visit an orchid garden, see bee hives, enjoy honey tea and visit a local chocolate processing workshop.
